Page B. Pennell, MD, FAES, FAAN, FANA is the Henry B. Higman Endowed Professor and Department Chair of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Pennell previously served as President of the American Epilepsy Society and has sat on the Board of Directors for numerous organizations, including the Epilepsy Foundation.

Dr. Pennell is a leading epileptologist and clinical investigator with a focus on sex-specific outcomes in epilepsy. She is devoted to the study of neurological illnesses and pregnancy. Dr. Pennell is the multi-principal -investigator on the groundbreaking study Maternal Outcomes and Neurodevelopment Effects of Antiepileptic Drugs (MONEAD), a study which laid the groundwork for establishing foundational guidelines for managing epilepsy in pregnant or breastfeeding people.

Dr. Pennell is also the multi-principal investigator on the study, Physiological-based Pharmacokinetics Approach to Determine the Extent of Drug Exposure of Anti-seizure Medications During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding. which focuses on the use of anti-seizure medication in pregnant and breastfeeding people and their infants.
